Early elections to the National Assembly, Sunday, June 3, 2018

In the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia no. 25/18 of 14 April 2018, the Decree on the dissolution of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and the announcement of early elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia is published. General voting at all polling stations in the country and abroad will take place on Sunday, June 3rd, 2018. The day of the announcement of the elections, with which the deadlines for the electoral process begin to run, is April 16, 2018.

We inform voters that on Sunday, June 3, 2018, from 9 am to 5 pm local time, the polls will be open to the following diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Slovenia:
CG in Klagenfurt, CG in Cleveland, CG in Munich, CG in Trieste, CG in Toronto, Embassy in Vienna, Embassy in Athens, Embassy in Belgrade, Embassy in Berlin, Embassy in Bern, Embassy in Bratislava, Embassy in Brussels, Embassy in Budapest, Embassy in Buenos Aires, Embassy in Canberra, Embassy in The Hague, Embassy in Kiev, Embassy in Copenhagen, Embassy in London, Embassy in Madrid, Embassy in Moscow, Embassy in Ottawa, Embassy in Paris, Embassy in Podgorica, Embassy in Prague , Embassy in Sarajevo, Embassy in Skopje, Embassy in Warsaw, Embassy in Washington, Embassy in Zagreb, and Embassy in the Holy See.

Both polling stations will be open on the day of the election between 9 am and 5 pm local time.

Electoral directories:
From 6 May 2018 to 18 May 2018, voters have the option of accessing data in the register of voting rights at any administrative unit, diplomatic mission or consulate of the Republic of Slovenia. Any changes to personal names that result from a change in the vital status (conclusion of marriage, divorce,...) can be updated only in accordance with the procedures described on our web pages.


SUPPORT TO CANDIDATE LISTS
In the period from 16 April 2018 to 3 May 2018, voters in the DKP can confirm the support form to the list of candidates and candidates.

The voter can only submit his support by signing on the prescribed forms only once.

The forms are published on the website of the State Election Commission:

The voters who, during the expiration of the deadline for collecting support, are permanently or temporarily located abroad, can also support their list of candidates if they express their support by signing the signature on the form by an official to the diplomatic mission or consulate of the Republic of Slovenia.

The voter sends the filled out support form to the proposer who ensures that the given support is sent to the administrative unit.

VOTING OPTIONS

A. Expatriates - voters with a permanent address abroad can exercise their right to vote in the following ways:

1. On 3. 6. 2018 at the polling station of the diplomatic mission or consulate of the Republic of Slovenia
2. By mail
3. At the polling station in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia (OMNIA polling station) if you are on the day of voting in the Republic of Slovenia, and if you give notice of intent in due time to the District Election Commission in the area of which you will vote or the National Electoral Commission. The deadline for submitting this notice to the National Electoral Commission is 30 May 2018.

The voting application at the polling station of OMNIA may be submitted by the voter via the e-Government portal:

WARNING: The voting material is sent by mail from Slovenia, which means that the timeline of receiving it depends on mail in the USA and we cannot guarantee that all voters will receive the material in time.
We also recommend that you send your completed ballot papers to the Embassy or General Consulate. They must arrive until the polls are closed, which means by Friday, June 1, 2018.


B. Voting of Slovenian citizens with permanent residence in Slovenia that are abroad at the time of the elections can exercise their voting rights abroad in the following ways:

1. On 3. 6. 2018 at the polling station of the diplomatic mission or consular post of the Republic of Slovenia with an open polling station, if you inform the National Electoral Commission in time (ie until May 3, 2018) that you want to vote in the DKP.
2. By mail from abroad, but only if you send a notice to the address of the State Election Commission, by 3 May 2018, that you want to vote by mail from abroad.

We advise all voters of citizens who wish to vote in the diplomatic representation or consulate of the Republic of Slovenia with an open polling station or by post from abroad to inform the National Electoral Commission as soon as possible.
